Feeling great

Wow! I guess it is like everyone says...pretty much you just wake up one day and you feel better. The nausea has seemed to leave and I have a bit more energy, still sleepy but a lot better. I went to visit my friend Kelly yesterday and see her beautiful new baby Tiegan and she gave me the coolest thing to borrow! She gave me a medical doppler so I can hear the baby's heartbeat whenever I want at home! How cool! We did it last night and it was amazing. Ed had it and then I thought I felt something and the baby moved (we know this for sure because Ed had to move the doppler). So cool!! I also did the chinese calendar and it says girl but last night we did the swinging crystal and it said boy! I guess we just have to wait until Oct. 15 to find out!

I went bra shopping today since everything I own does not fit right. I was almost in denial with it. Unfortunately, I am already a 32E! WTF? Maybe I should dress up like a cow for Halloween. I hope this is the end of it and I can wear the three bras I bought today for most of the pregnancy. I do have to admit, I finally feel comfortable. I guess I didn't realize how uncomfortable I was before.

Good news I am going to get use out of my clothes for a bit. I bought a bella band a while ago and just decided to use it! It is so nice because I can wear my regular jeans unbuttoned and they don't fall down. Plus you can't really tell. Hopefully, I can do this for the next month or two.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend.
Keep you posted.
Love,
Maria

Looking great!

Today was a long visit but it was amazing!! We went in for our 12 week ultrasound. We had to go to a perinatal specialist because at this point they check for markers for down syndrome. Well...good news! Everything looks great...literally! It was amazing to see this little baby move around and squirm. I think he/she was even sucking their thumb at one point! You could see the face pretty clear! A cute little nose and full lips with Skinny little arms and legs. I promise to post the pics this weekend!

The visit took so long because the first ultrasound machine was to blurry and the the measurements were incorrect. When they redid it on the "good" machine I couldn't believe the difference. The doctor said everything looks perfect!! My due date is still March 3, 2010!

As for the nausea situation...I felt amazing yesterday and today not so amazing but as the evening came it all went away. I hope tomorrow is just like yesterday and no more nausea!! I can not wait until I feel this little angel. He/she was moving so much it was so cute. Ed was trying to bribe the ultrasound tech to tell us what she thought the gender was...lol Unfortunately, it is too early to tell but we will find out October 15 on our 20 week ultrasound.

Anyway, so much excitement for one week! I will keep everyone posted.
Lots of Love,
Maria

Heartbeat is pounding!

Went for my monthly visit today and I officially gained 4 lbs although my pants and hips are telling me something different. We also got to hear the baby's heartbeat. It was pounding hard and fast. I swore I was starting to feel the baby when I would rest on my left side but the baby is pretty much center and low still. The doctor told me that I may start to feel the baby by our next visit which is September 16.

It is all very exciting and so amazing! However, the next visit they have to draw more blood...yuk. They also have to check for some kind of Mediterranean thing because my family is Italian...blah blah blah. Just another reason to draw more blood I think..lol All my blood work came back perfect from the last visit so I am happy!

Tomorrow I go for a transnuchal ultrasound. Big words for a really sensitive ultrasound that allows the doctors to check spinal fluid behind the spine. Ultimately, it checks for downs syndrome. Like I said to the doctors, whatever the results are we are fine and content. I will not do an Amnio and I made that very very clear. I am actually excited to go because this ultrasound will be clearer than the first. Also, they did say sometimes they can see the sex at this point. One of the ultrasound techs told me it isn't really accurate until 20 wks. So we will see what happens.

I know I promised to get the first picture up so I promise after tomorrow's picture I will put both pics up on this site. I will mess with my scanner and get it to work.

Well, until tomorrow have a great rest of the day! I know I will!
Lots of love,
Maria

Big Week Ahead

Wow, this is going to be a big week for us. Just finishing up 1st trimester and have two doctors appointments. One with my regular OB/GYN and the other with a specialist to take a special ultrasound to make sure everything is A-OK with this little baby.
Things seem to be moving along as they should. I am still a bit nauseous but nothing like the past month or so. I am still completely exhausted! I just don't have any energy. I came home from work today and watered some flowers and pulled some weeds and I am shot!!

Anyway, keep you posted on all the good Doctor visits!

Nausea may be slowly going away!

So..it's week 10 and I have to say, I woke up this am only a little sick. Hmmm... maybe this whole tale of it leaving by the end of the first trimester is true! However, why do I look like I have a beer gut?!?! Say good bye to my abs and hello to beer gut. It's like the awkward stage of puberty...lol. My pants are tight on my belly that I actually leave the button open at times. What is going on?!?!? I thought this started to happen in the later part of the 2nd trimester!! lol

Anyway, tight pants or not I am so very happy. My friend Kelly gave birth to her first child yesterday. Today she told me to enjoy every second, even the sickness because what comes from it is sooo worth it. Pretty good advice.

The dogs have been acting a bit strange lately too. Sheba is eating anything she can find...including our good friend Nate's wallet! Tank is completely in love with me. Follows me, cuddles with me all kinds of sweetness. Somehow I think they know...maybe they can smell it or hear it. Who knows. Whatever the case it is sooo cute.

This has been a rough week so I am looking forward to the weekend and relaxing. Maybe the nausea will be gone next time I update. Please keep your fingers crossed!!!

Good night for now.
